Houtarou Oreki, a first-year high school student who lives by the motto of 'energy conservation,' ends up joining the nearly defunct "Classics Club" by chance.
There he meets the inquisitive Eru Chitanda, along with his childhood friends Mayaka Ibara and Satoshi Fukube. Together, the four solve mysteries at Kamiyama High School in this youth mystery series.
